SITT: Iberian Society of Telehealth and Telemedicine
We are an organization working from Spain and Portugal, with a mision to promote the development and application of ICT in health, scientific research, administration, and health management.
It was established in a plenary session on March 21, 2015, at the Virgen de la Poveda Hospital (Madrid).
The founding partners became members of the SITT Board of Directors.

Founders members
Developing ICT in Medicine
We promote the application of methods and techniques of Telemedicine and Telehealth to provide quality medical care to the populations and regions of the Iberian Peninsula.
Sharing ideas and projects
We create meeting points for people, companies, universities, research centers, and other institutions interested in eHealth, where to share ideas and projects, promoting between regions and scientific and/or functional areas.
Creating collaboration networks
We generate collaborative relationships between health professionals from Spain and Portugal, with other Spanish and Portuguese associations and also with other countries in Europe, Latin America and other countries that wish to participate.
Telemedicine and eHealth training has become crucial for healthcare professionals and healthcare providers in the digital age.
This training can help healthcare professionals learn about best practices in the use of healthcare technology, understand the tools available, and develop technical skills.
Working groups for professionals
Developing knowledge with social and health problems increasingly requires the cooperation of interested individuals or groups. One of the SITT’s objectives is to encourage the creation and development of Working Groups.

Public intervention in telemedicine ensures that it is used ethically and safely.
Telemedicine and eHealth have become an increasingly important part of modern healthcare. Telemedicine uses communication technology to connect doctors and patients in different locations, enabling virtual consultations and remote patient monitoring. eHealth refers to the use of information and communication technology in healthcare, including the use of electronic medical records and mobile health applications.
So, from SITT:
- We develop and promote essential information for medical professionals in current times.
- We disseminate knowledge oriented to citizens about Telemedicine and ICT in the medical field.
